ERROR CONCEALMENT METHOD FOR REAL-TIME VIDEO COMMUNICATION OVER INTERNET

PURPOSE: A method for concealing an error for a real time video transmission on the Internet is provided to recover corrupted real time moving picture data effectively using a spatial correlation or a temporal correlation in adaptable in accordance with peripheral mode information. CONSTITUTION: In the case that many macro blocks of an intra picture type exist in a peripheral portion of a macro block to be recovered, a corresponding macro block is recovered using a spatial error concealment method. In the case that many macro blocks of an inter picture type exist in a peripheral portion of a macro block to be recovered, a corresponding macro block is recovered using a temporal error concealment method. In the spatial error concealment method, a pixel value of the current position is forecasted by four-pixel unit using by one line of a peripheral available macro block, and data are recovered by taking an average vale of a corresponding pixel.
