A method for the preparation of extract from Angelica gigantis radix and the composition containing the extract

A method of manufacturing Angelica root extract is provided, which increases the content of decursin and decursinol as a pharmacological component by more than 3 times, prevents nozzle plugging and provides Angelica root extract useful as health drinks. An angelica root is dried to a moisture content of less than 3%(w/w), mixed with 2 to 8 times the weight of spirits(ethanol content of more than 80%(v/v)), extracted at 40 to 70deg.C for 2 to 6hr and concentrated under reduced pressure. The Angelica root extract is mixed with 3 to 6 times the weight of 95.5 to 99.9%(v/v) ethanol, dissolved at 40deg.C, left at 5 to 10deg.C for more than 2hr and filtered with a filter of 10 micrometers to obtain a filtrate which is concentrated under reduced pressure.
