FIELD: production of highly refractory mixes used as mortars for masonry and daubing in performing lining and repair jobs in high-temperature thermal units- furnaces, boilers, reactors in ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy, chemical and by-product coke industry, heat-power engineering and construction engineering.;SUBSTANCE: proposed method is base on use of water glass; proposed method consists in mixing the alumina-containing component with water soda glass in presence of water; used as alumina-containing component is crushed scrap of mullite-containing or chamotte items at content of alumina of 15-70%; mixing procedure is carried out in ball mill of wet grinding at loading in three stages - 100% of water and 70% of said alumina-containing component; after reaching temperature of 45-60C - 15-20% of said alumina-containing component and after reaching temperature of 50-70C - 10-15% of said alumina-containing component; water soda glass is loaded in the amount of 1% of alumina-containing component at each stage, thus obtaining ceramic binder suspension at moisture content of 14-16% and size of particles more than 63 mcm in the amount of 7%; the suspension thus obtained is subjected to stabilization continued for 7-20h till highly concentrated ceramic binder suspension has been obtained; this suspension is mixed with suspension of the following composition, parts by mass: bentonite fireclay, 1; water, 1 at the amount of clay of 0.2-0.7% of mass of high concentrated ceramic binder suspension; mixing procedure is continued for 50-70 min, after which trisodium phosphate or triply phosphate is introduced at continuous mixing in the amount of 0.2-0.7% of mass of highly concentrated ceramic binder suspension.
