A controller (22) sets the feedback control amount of the air-fuel ratio control signal using parameters of identified plant model which represents a plant between the fuel injection valve (5) and sensor (13) by transfer function. The plant model is identified by using the actual air-fuel ratio and value obtained by adding offset correction amount to feedback control amount. An independent claim is also included for air-fuel ratio control method.
