Impression die plate (20) consists of non-magnetic metal layer bonded to ferromagnetic layer. The magnetic support which is releasably secured to support unit of stamping apparatus, engages ferromagnetic layer of die plate. The magnetic support has magnets used to attract die plate. An independent claim is also included for impression die manufacturing method.
