The system has a billing unit to determine a purchase price, and a display unit to display the price. A storage unit is designed as a cash box (2) or a cash drawer (3) to store banknotes (4) and/or coins. A counterfeit money checking detector (9) designed as a W-lamp or UV-lamp is integrated in the storage unit. The detector is arranged on a side of a housing (5) of the box. A control program is assigned to the detector in such a manner that the checking of the counterfeit money takes place only when the drawer is completely provided within the housing.
