The hydraulic support element for a valve gear of an internal combustion engine has a deflection element (14) as a thin-walled tube for the internal transporting of hydraulic medium and which at one end is fastened in the inlet (13) of a pressure piston (6), and by its end-side overflow (15) into the supply chamber (4) extends in the direction towards the head (7) of the pressure piston or extends in a curve. An annular bridge (9) in the pressure piston is constructed at least with a part of the pressure piston extending inside the housing, or with the complete piston.
