The hot roll, with a journal on at least one end of the roll body (2), and a journal plate with a smaller diameter than the roll body, has an inductor arrangement (11) which in the axial direction is adapted to a surface contour which is formed by the different diameters of the roll body and journal plates (5,6). The inductor arrangement has at least two conductors (12) extending in the axial direction of the hot roll which in the region of the journal plate each have an end section which is offset in the direction of the roll axis (28) with regard to a main section (14) of the roll.
