Device automatically regenerates a particle filter having a honeycomb-like porous filter body which has an exhaust gas inlet surface formed as a polished surface only interrupted by openings of inlet channels. An air distributor containing a hollow chamber slides on the surface and has an air inlet opening to the sliding surface to form a connection to a partial amount of the covered filter channels. The hollow chamber continues up to a hollow shaft of the air distributor. The air distributor rotates about the central axis. Preferred Features: The hollow shaft of the air distributor is driven by an electric adjusting device. The rotating direction can be changed.
