The method involves detecting temperature of a fluid and moving a sensor arrangement along a channel. Temperature difference between two temperature sensors (4, 5) is determined by using the temperature sensors that are arranged together in a fixed distance, where the sensors immerse in the fluid. The distance is compared to a predetermined threshold value, where an infiltration is developed when exceeding of the threshold value. An independent claim is also included for a device for detecting an infiltration in a fluid filled channel.
