The lawn sprayer has a casing which is buried in the ground, from which a spray head (18) can be raised. A seal (11) is fitted between the casing and the head which is conical when extended and is held in place by integral collars (9, 10) which fit into grooves on them. An independent claim is included for a method for raising and lowering the spray head.
