The valve cartridge has a housing (2), a spring-tensioned piston (3) inserted into the housing and a sleeve (4) pushed onto the piston, whereby the housing has a load connection (7), a switching pulse connection (8), a pump connection (11) and a tank connection (13). The load connection is connected to the switching pulse connection by a longitudinal housing bore, from which at least one pump cross bore (10) branches to the pump connection and at least one tank cross bore (12) to the tank connection. At the inside of the housing longitudinal bore two inner cones (15, 19) are arranged between the pump cross bore and the tank cross bore, of which the first opens to the pump cross bore and the second to the tank cross bore. The piston is axially movable in the housing longitudinal bore (9) between a pump end position and a tank end position.
