The wedge rib disk (10) has a disk base (14) with spaced wedge-shaped first ribs (11) that mesh with first gaps (13) between spaced second ribs of a wedge rib belt (2). Second gaps (12) are formed between second ribs, such that first ribs are engaged in a manner that first gaps between rib base (15) of first ribs and rib head (16) of the second ribs form a free distance. The ratio of longitudinal axial center of the disk base, including cross-sectional areas of the free distance (A1) of first gaps between rib base and rib head, and surface of second gaps enclosed by second ribs amounts to 0.5. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) Use of the wedge rib disk; and (2) Wedge rib disk manufacture.
