The device has a stack container (18) that is accessible from a top of a vehicle for stacking articles. A guiding mechanics move the stack container from a locking position below a seat of the vehicle into an opening position that laterally extends with respect to a chassis (11) of the vehicle. The container has an actuating unit (14) for manually adjusting the container that is arranged in the locking position below a vehicle door (12).
