The method involves detecting indications and time points (t1, t2) of a motor vehicle by passage of two end points (t1, t2) of an elongated section (s). A mean driving speed of the vehicle is determined during formation of ratio of a length of the elongated section and difference of passage time points. A wirelessly transmitted identification signal of the vehicle is detected as the indication of the vehicle. An independent claim is also included for a system for executing a method for examining an observation of maximum speed.
