The hopper for fertilizer spreaders can be increased in height by adding a peripheral upper wall. This is secured by bolts (40) passing through flanges on the top of the hopper and the base of the wall. These have injection-molded heads (45) with flexible hooks (48) parallel to the shaft (42) which hold the bolts in place. An independent claim is included for a method for fitting the upper wall.
