Hand-operated machine tool for milling and grinding has protective dust-suction hood fitting over workpiece and over vertically movable machine unit which can pivot relative to hood

The machine tool has a protective dust- suction hood (10) which can be fitted by its underneath (11) onto the workpiece (9) and is mounted on the machine unit (2) so that the latter can pivot relative to the hood about the axis (14) of the output shaft (5). The machine unit is movable in a vertical direction (16) at right angles to the underneath of the hood whereby in the upper end position of the machine unit the tool (6) projects entirely into the hood and when the machine unit moves down it exits through the aperture in the underneath of the hood facing the workpiece which is being machined. A spring unit supported on the machine unit on one side and on the hood on the other biases the machine unit towards its upper end position.
