The system to detect a flow of matter, in a rectification column where at least one base (2) gives separate column zones, has a number of passage openings in the bases and at least one feedback pipe (10). The flow of matter is measured at the passage openings or the feedback tube e.g. by a difference pressure meter (14) based on the vortex principle, with data passed to a control/evaluation unit (11).
