A straight pipe section (1) has axially aligned openings (3,4) at both ends. A guide (5) is retained within one of the openings of the pipe section via spoke (6). The projection of the guide runs in parallel to the axis (2) of the pipe section and positioned on part of the pipe section containing the openings. This allows the gas to flow around the guide and into the inner periphery (7) of the pipe section. Furthermore, a sound absorbing lining (8) is arranged within the pipe section.
