Fiber structure based on glass containing more than 50 wt.% SiO2 and Al2O3 or Al2O3 mixed oxide, i.e. a mixed oxide of Al2O3 with SiO2 and/or B2O3, of particle size below 100 nm, and a high temperature resistant pigment. An independent claim is included for a method of preparing the fiber structure, e.g. by mixing an Al2O3 or mixed oxide dispersion with SiO2 and drying of the fiber structure obtained.
