The permanent magnet bearing has a floating system involving interruptions in the permanent bar magnets (1) in one part (A) of the system. A prestressed system is envisaged, with additional bar magnets (2, 3) in the other part (B) of the system to reduce the influence of the interruptions to the other bar magnets.
