The structure has a node unit, and a bar unit with a connection mechanism (9), where the bar unit has a tubular cross section. The mechanism partially overlaps the node unit. The mechanism is formed such that power is centrally transferred between the bar unit and the node unit, when the mechanism stays in contact with the node unit. The mechanism has ends (13,14) with different cross sections. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a connection unit for a support structure (2) a node unit for a supporting structure (3) an aerofoil comprising a supporting structure (4) a method for power transmission between a bar unit and a node unit (5) use of a supporting structure in an airplane (6) an airplane with a supporting structure.
