The sandwich is formed by upper and lower soft magnetic substrates (1, 2). Edge (5) and center (4) (or core) regions of the soft magnetic sandwich, are connected by soft magnetic material (4, 5). These region lie outside the spiral planar coil (3), at its maximum and minimum diameters respectively. A closed magnetic circuit is formed around all the windings of the coil. The connecting material comprises a non-magnetic dielectric (diverse polymers cited) containing known soft magnetic particles. An independent claim is included for the method of manufacture.
