Pillar retreating method for use during digging e.g. coal, in underground layer-like deposits, involves supporting inclination end with construction units before retreating face of extraction unit

The method involves extending a retreating section through longitudinal and transverse sections of the pillars. An extraction unit is aligned to the longitudinal section. A retreating face at the transverse section leads the further retreating face. An inclination end (61) is supported with construction units (10, 10`), which are arranged between the pillars in the longitudinal and transverse sections, before retreating face of the unit. An independent claim is also included for a construction unit for pillar deconstruction.
