Mixer has housing, outlet with outflow channel open at top through which unpressurized water flows, and intake space in housing in which an intake part containing control cartridge is arranged. Between the bottom of the intake insert and on the bottom of the intake space is a first flow passage (19) through which water flows radially to the outside. Between the covering surface of the intake part and of the intake space, a ring-shaped double flow passage is formed which connects with the first flow passage beneath and with the outflow channel (4) above. At the top end of the double flow passage (27) is a ring-shaped stilling space (41) wider than the second flow passage and tall enough to allow overlap with the inner end of the outflow channel. The water in the stilling space changes its flow direction from axial to radial in direction of the outflow channel.
