The crankcase (1) has external structures (2,3) with main bearing walls for supporting a crankshaft and main bearing reinforcing (8) molded in the external structures, where the reinforcing have bearing frames (7) freely protruding from a molding composite. The reinforcing and the bearing frames are made of single piece and isolated by breakage openings. The reinforcing are combined with a common bearing frame (9) at the bearing frames and form a single-piece component part in front of the breakage openings. An independent claim is also included for a method for producing a cylinder crankcase for an internal combustion engine.
