The machine has an electric motor (42) arranged in a retaining chamber (45) of a housing. A middle housing part (12) bordering the chamber (45) is partly designed as a hollow chamber part. An annular space (54) of the chamber is formed between concentric inner and outer walls (44, 52) of the housing part and stays in connection with a periphery of the chamber (45) via inlet- and outlet slots (78, 82). A cup-shaped fan (56) is rotatably arranged in the annular space and is attached to a motor shaft with its base, where an outer side of a peripheral wall of the fan supports blades (68).
