The torsion spring comprises first and second end regions (1, 2) together with a central spring system (3). The end regions are twistable relative to one another, whilst the spring system can be alternated in its periphery through the twisting of the end regions. The central spring system can cooperate with a further spring system (4) via alternation of its diameter. The central spring system may switchable parallel to the further spring system. The spring system (3) may surround an inner spring system (4). The inner spring system may comprises an elastically deformable layer (13) which may be an elastomer and possess recesses (15). The elastically deformable layer may be arranged between two layers (12, 14).
