The release procedure involves evaluating a crash detection sensor data (Cx, Cy), which are recorded in a crash device. A second sensor data (Px, Py) being perpendicular to the crash device are recorded and evaluated for the plausibility of the first sensor data. Passenger safety devices (40) are activated, if the evaluation of the first sensor data results in a potential Crash situation and which are confirmed by the evaluation of the second sensor data.
