In the production of polyoxymethylene homo- or co-polymers (POM) in a tubular reactor, the reactor has the following zones: (I) initiator mixing zone, in which suitable monomers are mixed with polymerization initiator, (II) polymerization zone, in which mixture is reacted to POM, (III) deactivator mixing zone, in which deactivator (A) is mixed with reaction mixture (B), and (IV) deactivation zone, in which (B) is deactivated by (A), where (a) (I) and/or (III) has dynamic inserts and (b) maximum reactor diameter in (I) is not 90% of that of (II). Independent claims (1) polyoxymethylene homo- or co-polymers obtained by this process; (2) use of the specified reactor for production of polyoxymethylene homo- or co-polymers.
