The adapter has a connection unit (26), where the unit has a connection contact (28) for producing an electrical connection with the contact of a switching device (2) and another connection contact (29) for producing the electrical connection with the connection contact (7) of an energy distribution device (3). A retainer opening (25) is provided for detachable fastening of the unit, where the opening is formed in such a manner that the latter contact is arranged in a connection direction (6) to produce the electrical connection with the contact of the device in a mounted condition.
