The play sand has a grain size up to 2 millimeter and ethanol and essential oil are added to the sand as additive scented-substance. The scented-substance is mixed to the sand in the ratio (weight- percentage) of 2500 to 7500 is to 1, preferably 5000 is to 1. The scented-substance consists of a mixture of 93-97 weight-percentage ethanol, preferably about 5 percent isopropanol, and 7-3 weight-percentage essential oil, preferably of 95 weight-percentage ethanol and 5 weight-percentage essential oil. The essential oil is a eucalyptus oil. An independent claim is also included for a method for the production of the play sand.
