The baking tray has a cooking, roasting and baking surface with an upwardly pointing surface normal during normal usage, and an uprising surface (3) with a downwardly pointing surface normal. The uprising surface is provided with a contact unit (4) that is made from a heat-resistant plastic e.g. silicone, having a high adhesion coefficient. A layer of polytetrafluoroethylene is provided on the baking surface, where the contact unit is attached to a carrier material.
