The device has valve actuators (17) actuating a charge-cycle valve (13). Fluid conducting fluid rails (18, 19, 20) are provided for supplying/discharging fluid to/from the valve actuators. The fluid rails and all valve actuators are accommodated in common housing (16), which extends over a cylinder head (11). The fluid rails cross the housing in its entire length. The housing is attached to the cylinder head.
