The apparatus includes a vertically movable upper crosspiece (1) for exerting a tensile force, and a height-adjustable lower crosspiece (2). A bolt (3) is held on upper and lower bell-shaped bodies. The lower bell-shaped body is fixedly attached to the lower crosspiece, and the upper bell-shaped body is releasably attached to the upper crosspiece via a threaded connection (12,17). A removable lifting device (27) is arranged on the lower bell-shaped body, and comprises a baseplate (28) on which a head-plate (30) is resiliently supported. The upper bell-shaped body released from the upper crosspiece is rotatably arranged on the head-plate for placing or removing the bolt and when connecting or releasing the upper crosspiece.
