Hair coloring agent (I) as an aqueous emulsion comprises at least an oxidative dye precursor, 10-20C fatty acid polyethylene glycol amide (1-20 wt.%), 10-20C fatty acid monoethanolamide ester (0.1-10 wt.%), glycerylmono/distearate (0.5-10 wt.%), nonionic, anionic and/or ampholytic emulsifying agents (0.1-5 wt.%) and exhibits a pH-value of 4.5-12%. An independent claim is included for a method for oxidative hair coloring comprising mixing (I) directly with an oxidizing agent containing liquid or cream from oxidizing agent, preferably hydrogen peroxide before using; subsequently applying the mixture on the hair and exposing at 20-50[deg]C for 10-50 minutes; subsequently washing with shampoo and drying.
