Crash box for integration between bumper cross beam and longitudinal support of motor vehicle, has attachment section connected torque free with distance spacer, which has inclination opposite to two thread sections
Crash box (1) has attachment section (4) which is connected torque free with a distance spacer, which has an inclination opposite to two thread sections. Tolerance compensating screws are screwed into the inclination, which have an inner rotary drive and stay in engagement with an outer threading of the threaded bolt by screwing a threaded bolt passing through the tolerance compensating screws and the distance spacer. The tolerance compensating screws reach into the installation position by rotating the threaded bolt against the inner sides of a longitudinal support. The threaded bolt catches into a bolt arranged outside the longitudinal support, so that the attachment section is retained free from play at the longitudinal support (3) by a bolt head of the threaded bolt and the first tolerance compensating screw on one hand, on the other hand retained by second tolerance compensating screw and the bolt. The wall of the longitudinal support is coupled form-fit with the attachment section of the crash box by a safety element.
