The method involves detecting a feature for securing the quality of network supported services by scaling the data transferred to a terminal (1), during the requirement of the service. The quality of service parameter of an internet protocol (IP) network is determined by an access router (4) which accesses the network (3). The parameter is transmitted from a peering-node of the IP network which temporarily forms the network (6), to a central entity (7). An independent claim is also included an arrangement for protecting the quality of network supported services.
