The paraglider has upper and lower canvasses (1, 2) that are interwoven in such a manner that connections are established between the canvasses. Cross threads (8, 9) and/or thread packets are interwoven from the upper canvass into the lower canvass. The connections are formed from individual cross threads or thread packets. The defined distance between the upper and lower canvasses is adjusted through the length of the cross threads. The distance from a leading edge of a cover to a trailing edge is reduced and a wing section is formed, when the cap is filled with air. An independent claim is also included for a method of manufacturing a paraglider.
