Sealing element (1) has two sealing lips (4a,4b) facing each other and are arranged on sealing body (9). The two sealing lips form groove walls and connecting bridges (5) to the groove base of receiving groove (6). The sealing lips are formed symmetrically referring to symmetrical axis running through receiving groove. An independent claim is also included for the application for the sealing element.
