The machine has a retaining unit (2) for a magnetic unit (3) such as permanent magnet, where the retaining unit has longitudinal grooves (4a, 4b) and is arranged in or at a rotor (1) and/or in or at a stator of an electric motor. The retaining unit is designed as a slot, where the longitudinal grooves serve as an inlet for filling the retaining unit. The rotor and/or the stator comprise a set of sheet metal layer merged to a laminated sheet package. Plastic (5) is inserted into the retaining unit through the longitudinal grooves, and centers the magnetic unit in the retaining unit.
