The mechanism (20) has a groove unit (30) defining a groove (34) with a nut (36), where the groove unit has an integrated, encased retaining section in proximity to the nut and a dual wall channel for connecting the groove with the section. The channel width is smaller than a width of a guiding unit (32) moving in the groove. The guiding unit is directly pressed by the nut through the channel and is locked in the section for locking a door of a storage compartment in a closed position, when the guiding unit is positioned in the groove and force larger than preset force acts on the door. An independent claim is also included for a sectional view of a groove unit, when a guiding unit is in an opened position.
