Process for production of a basic drum for water jet strengthening (sic) of cellular and nonwoven materials or a structuring drum for structuring and/or perforation of nonwoven materials or films involving:preparation of a precision tube of maximum rotational tolerance 0.1 mm, introduction of a structure into the precision tube jacket (sic) in the form of openings (sic) bounded by small bridges (sic) and projections on the small bridges. An independent claim is included for a basic drum as described above.
