The housing has a body (1) that has a rectangular, circular or oval shape, and a flange edge (2) that protrudes outwards. The flange edge has a curved cross section such that a hollow space is formed between the edge and a contact surface of the edge at a sub-construction of a roof. The flange edge is formed from plastic as a single piece. The base of the body is provided with bracing ribs. The flange edge is provided on a mounting layer or on a side turned away from the contact surface with an adhesive layer. An independent claim is also included for an arrangement of an installation housing in a roof region.
