The method involves selecting a conductor section that leads from a battery pole to a main load e.g. light, and to an unknown adjacent load. A power source is attached over the conductor section for supply current, and a resistance of the selected conductor section is determined. A voltage measurement is carried out over the conductor section when the main load is in off-state, and a leakage current is computed. An independent claim is also included for a device for determining leakage current in a battery-fed network.
