The method involves simultaneously generating originally demanded torque and a linear acceleration of a satellite by a regulation principle, such that an orbit is changed in a desired manner. The regulation principle is provided in an autonomous algorithm. The permanently working position control thruster is inserted on board of the satellite using an orbital changing request by the algorithm, such that linear forces are generated in additional to desired moments at certain positions of the orbit.
