Device for producing paper cushions from a paper web rolled up in a supply roll (12) comprises a machine (20) having coupling elements via which a transport carriage with coupling elements (16) is detachedly coupled to the machine. The supply roll is positioned on the transport carriage so that when the carriage is coupled to the machine the supply roll can be inserted into a bearing arrangement of the machine using a rolling and/or sliding movement. An independent claim is also included for a transport carriage for the above device. Preferred Features: The bearing arrangement is formed by two end plates (27) with recesses (28). The end plates also form the housing side walls of the device. The carriage has a structure (14) on which is fixed a height-adjustable platform (18) which pivots about a horizontal axis.
