In a suction channel (15) for a fiber bundling device (1), located downstream of a stretching tool (3) of a textile machine, comprising a tubular base structure (23) with an external sliding surface (17) for an air-permeable conveyor belt (12) and suction slit(s) (18) running in the peripheral direction of the base structure, the width of the suction slit is less than 1.3 mm. An independent claim is included for a fiber bundling device with a suction channel as above and clamping roller (19) forming a clamping line (13), where the spacing between the end of the suction slit and the clamping line is less than 7 (preferably 4-6) mm.
