The power supply has a constant voltage source (22) for supplying a direct voltage to a micro controller (24) of a contactor of an electric appliance. The voltage source is coupled over a rectifier bridge with an alternating voltage network. Internal port-protection diodes (50, 52, 54, 56) are used as rectifier elements, and are arranged at an input (44) and/or output (46) of the micro controller. The diodes serve the controller as rectifier elements of the bridge, where the rectifier elements are separated by P-and/or N-channel of metal oxide semiconductor (MOS)-field effect transistors.
