Exhaust gas probe calibrating method for use in internal combustion engine, involves detecting plateau phase of measuring signals of probe, after transfer of parameter of fat air-fuel ratio to parameter of lean air-fuel ratio
Calibration of an exhaust gas probe in waste gas catalyst system involves detecting and adjusting plateau phase of measuring signals of an exhaust gas probe, after the transfer of a parameter of a fat air-fuel ratio in a combustion chamber of cylinders to a parameter of a lean air-fuel ratio and/or vice versa. An assignment code is adapted for assigning the measuring signals to a detected air-fuel ratio based on a plateau value of the signals. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for operating an internal combustion engine (2) a device for calibrating an exhaust gas probe (3) a device for operating an internal combustion engine.
